Nominations close to-day for the Maiden Plate at Hutt Races, also acceptances for all handicaps. The “ Family Herald” for March is nowon sale.
A notice respecting the barque Thos. A. Goddard appears elsewhere. R. C. Shearman and Co. have first-class apples for sale. The Taylor Valley sheep run, near Blenheim, is for sale, with 5000 sheep. Chrysanthemum show at Skating Rink on Friday and Saturday next. Mr W. Vero Read, of New South Wales, addresses -members of the Australian Mutual Provident Society in another column.
