RULES AND CONDITIONS, The rules of the Club are the rules of the Wellington Racing Club as far as applicable, and all races to be run under the rules of racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Club, and the rules and general conditions as follows: 1. All events close not later than 10 p.m. on the advertised date of nominations, and no nominations dr acceptances wilT be received Under any pretence whatever unless accompanied by the necessary amounts. 2. The Wellington Racing Club rules will be strictly adhered to. 3. All races, at this meeting will be Confined to hacks only. Hacks shall mean horses that have - never won an advertised race (Flat, Hurdle, dr Steeplechase), or started in one since Ist June, 1889 ; flack Races and Trotting Races excepted, and that are not nominated for Handicaps, Derbya, St Legers,. Champagnes,, or,Guineas. 4. Weight-for-age shall mean where the weight-for-ago scale has been carried. 5. All horses to be ridden in distinguishing colours. Owners are particularly requested --to send ‘their colours when nominating. 6. No entry will be received for any race except under the condition that all claims, disputes,' and objections arising ont of the races shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, 1 and their decision shall be' final. 7. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent of the stakes. 8. Any protest must be lodged in writing within ten minutes after the race to which It refers, accompanied by 2 eovs, which will be returned in the event of the protest being upheld by the Stewards. 9. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to the Secretary one hour before starting. Any person refusing to comply with such rule will be fined 2 sovs. 10.
