MR DOWIE AND THE COLONIAL PRESS.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, February 9. The Rev Mr Dowie has fallen foal of tho press here, which has generally let him alone. One evening journal referred to one of hia supposed cures, that of a blind man. Mr Dowie grew personal at hia meeting to-night. He said the New Zealand press waa the most libellous and scurrilous ho had ever experienced, but after all there Were some papers nearly as bad. The editor of the Melbourne Age was a direct descendant of Ananias; tho editor of the Melbourne Argus was a descendant of the impenitent thief; and Mr Dowie oonld not apparently find genealogy sufficiently bad for the editor of the Telegraph.
