The frozen meat by the steamers lonic and Aorangi is selling at 4-|d per pound. On examination the cargo of meat by the Orient steamer Liguria was found to be in good condition. The Liberal and Tory Press, commenting on the recent modifications by Russia of her proposals regarding the occupancy of the Zulflkar Pass, generally express their distrust of them. New Zealand Government securities show a general improvement. Pive per cent. 10-40 loan 5s higher, £lO5 15s ; 4J per cent. 1879-1904 loan £1 higher, £lO3 ; 4 per cent, inscribed stock 5s higher, £IOO ss. Produce quotations without variation.
