To tlio Worshipful the Mayor and Councillors of the City of Wellington. Whereas the City Council of Wellington, in accordance with the powers in them vested, and in pursuance of the provisions of By-Laws of the Council of the said City, intituled—“ By-Laws to make other and better provisions for Licensing and Regulating Hackney Carnages, and tbe owners and drivers thereof, plying for hire within the City of Wellington, and between the said City and any place or places within the distance of eight miles from the Corporate limits of the said City,” did cause the carriage, Ho. , now used and let to hire, and known by the following marks or description (here state marks or description by which the carriage may bo identified), to be inspected, and find the said carriage (or liarness, or horse, or horses, as the case may be) not to be in a fit and proper condition for public use ; How, I, the Town Clerk of tho said City, in the name and on behalf of the said Council, do hereby suspend tbe license granted for and in respect of the said carriage, from the date of these presents, until the said carriage, with the horse or horses and all the appurtenances thereof, shall, upon further - inspection by the said Council, or by their Inspector of Hackney Carriages, he found and deemed to be in all respects sufficient and fit for public use. SCHEDULE F.—Table of Rates and Fares. To bo Charged for any Hackney Carriage Flying for Hire as a Cab at any Place within the City of | Wellington, and within Eight Miles of the Corporate Limits Thereof.

Fares by Time. By the Day, i.c., for any 12 consecutive hours between 6 a.m. 10 p.ra. By the Hour —For the first hour ... For every subsequent liour Fares by Distance. For .any distance within and not exceeding one mile (one or two persons) For every additional half-mile, or fractional part of half a mile For every additional passenger, irrespective of distance Any person calling or sending for any cab, and not further employing the same, shall pay, exclusive of detention Or, at the option of the driver; the fare from the stand or place where the cab may be engaged (exclusive of detention) Detention for eveiy fifteen minutes after the first five minutes Half fare allowed back, if distance exceeds two miles, if not engaged by time An additional charge of one half the above fares to be made for any fare or part ot a fare performed between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The driver, at his option, to charge either by distance or time, if required to go beyond the boundaries of the city.
