Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, as follows: For Picton, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Manukaii, per s.s. Ladybird, on Saturday, at 11 a.m. for Foxton, per p.s. Manawatu, on Saturday, at 1 p.m. For Foxton, per s.s. Napier, on Saturday, at 5 p.m. For Wanganui, per s.s. Stormbird, on Saturday, at 5 p.m. For Hokitika, per s.s. Waipara, this day, at 4 p.m. Edward D. Butts, Chief, Postmaster. The steamer Jlacgregor is expected to leave Auckland at noon on Friday, the 30th instant. Telegrams for the United Kingdom, via 'Frisco, will be received at the "Wellington Telegraph office for transmission to Auckland up till 10 a.m. of the Both instant (this day.)
