The Miramar Ferry Company lias completed the purchase of the Sydney harbour ferry steamer Cobar. The steamei is expected to arrive at Wellington in •about a fortnight. Recently the company disposed of the steamer Loyalty in order to secure a speedier and moio up-to-date vessel. It has not y© een announced 'which service the ne \ steamer Avill enter, but it is believed that-she will run between the city Karaka Bay, and Seatoun. Tlie Cobai is a Avooden screw steamer, and built in 1903 at Sydney by G. He Frame, •and her engines are by Campbell OalderAvood, GlasgoAV. In general outr line the Cobar is rather similar to the Admiral, but lift longer, has sft move beam, and is nearly a foot deeper. The principal measurements of tne ’Cobar are—length 113 ft, beam 25ft, depth 10ft, tonnage 159 gross, 53 net. The Cobar has a glassed-in house tor passengers on the top deck.
