LADY'S LETTER FROM DUNEDIN.

On Tuesday afternoon Miss Bathgate gave a small tea at her mother’s residence in Mornington, to say good-bye to her cousin, Miss Lily Turton, who ie leaving very soon for England. On Thursday afternoon Miss Joachim gave a small “At Home” as a farewell to Miss Allison Bathgate, who is leaving at the end of this month for Singapore, where she is to be married. The Misses McGlashan left last Thursday for Sydney, where they join the Moana en route for England. Mrs Allen and her son, Mi* John Allen, have gone to Queenstown for a few weeks, to give Mr Allen the benefit of the change after the severe ill - ness he had last spring. Dr. and Mrs Benhani have gone a walking trip to Lakes Manapouri and ,Te Anau. Mrs Kinsey and Miss Wark, who were both the guests of Mrs Mioore, left for Christchurch last week.
Mr and Mrs Back, who spent a few days in Dunedin after their trip to Queenstown, left for the Bluff, where they are to reside, last Thursday. Mrs arid Miss Ewen have gone to Timaru for a feAv weeks. Professor and Mrs Sale are at present staying in Invercargill with their son, Dr. Sale. Mr and Mrs Gray and Miss Gray left by the last ’Frisco boat for England, and intend to be away about twelve months. Mrs Archie Clark, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs Ogston, returned to Auckland last week. Miss Gome also returned to Auckland lost week.
Miss Lister who has been the guest of Mrs James Mills for some weeks left by the Moeraki on Thursday.
