At last week’s meeting of the Patea Harbour Board Mr J. A. McKenna was re-elected Chairman for the sixth time.

A bridge over 200 ft long, crossing the Mangahao at Mangamaire, wad erected by Mr D. McCalmont in twelve weeks. All the ironwork was supplied by the Masterton Farmers’ Implement Company. It has been definitely arranged that the opening of the new Victoria College buildings by Lord Plunket shall take place on the afternoon of Friday, 30th inst. In the evening the students will give an entertainment, to which the public will be invited.
