DUNEDIN CYCLING CLUB.

DUNEDIN, March 10. The Dunedin Cycling and Motoring Club’s sports were held to-day on the Caledonian ground. The weather was lovely, and there was a large attendance. The sport was fair, hut the motor-cycle events possessed no interest. H. G. Burk made an attempt on Shru-bb’s New Zealand mile record, but it was evident from the first it was not his day out, and he did not appear to take kindly to the pacing. There was sufficient breeze to handicap him in running in the long straight stretch. His time was 4min 34 2-ssec. 'The Sheffield Handicap provided gooo finishes, and so did the 220yds race. O’Kane, who won the latter, instead of going on the outside to the finish, tried to get up the inside, and, having no room to do so, went outside the track, and was disqualified. Results :■ —
