CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. ASHBURTON, January 3. Tho Canterbury Lawn Tennis Champions kip meeting was opened yesterday, and continued to-day. A boisterous sou’-wester on both days considerably marred the play, but otherwise the conditions were favourable. I he ground was in fine order. Parker was easily the best player on the ground. The general opinion was that Miss Nunneley did not play up to form. Miss Powdrell gave a very good exhibition, and was voted the best lady player of the day.
