BACK TO WELLINGTON
From Dunedin by train and steamer the men from Home journeyed back to Wellington, the capital city. All along the railway route from Dunedin to Christchurch, no matter how small the sidestation. no matter how oold it was, there were people gathered to see the players who had come so far to meet our men on the Rugby field. Tim Britishers arrived on Friday marniup alter an exceptionally smooth passage from'Lyttelton. . At the landing-
place they were officially received by members of the --.ew Zealand Rugby Union and the Wellington Rugby Union. The public was largely represented, and the name genuine welcome given the men from the British Islands as they found all along their pathway through the South Island. Great is the mana of Rugby in New Zealand. What travelling band of athletes in any gaxoe but Rugby would have received such a welcome? On -he evening of arrival the British and xvew Zealand teams were the guests of His Excellency the Governor at Government House.
