THE BOER GENERALS.
LONDON, August 23. Mr Kruger is bitterly disappointed at the determination of the Boer Generals to loyally adhere to the peace terms. General Botha declares that it is the duty of the burghers to respect the law and become faithful subjects of tne King. General De Wet is pressing Dr Leyds for documentary proof regarding tne promise alleged to have been given by M. Delcasse (French Minister for Foreign Affairs) that France would intervene prior to the issue of the Boer ultimatum. There are indications that the Boer colony is leaving Brussels for Dresden.
The Brussels correspondent of the “Standard” states that Messrs Fischer, Wessels and Wolmarans (the recent Boer peace delegates) intend to take tlie oath of allegiance to the King and apply for permission to return to South Africa.
The Corporation of Limerick will bestow the Freedom of the City upon 1 lie Boer Generals.
General Lukas Meyer’s funeral has been postponed for two months. Possibly the body will be buried at the Cape. BRUSSELS, August 25/ Boer circles affirm that after an agitated discussion at Utrecht the Boer conference approved General Botha’s moderate policy, only Dr Leyds and Mr Reitz supporting Mr Kruger's proposal to found an intransigent party.
