. .The famous Austrian singer, Josephine Sclnner, wlio a generation ago was the darling of tlie theatre-going public of -Vienna, has just entered the poorhouse in the eighth district of tho city. Her earnings were at one time fabulous, but she was not economical, and when her voice failed her she quickly sank into poverty, want, and then utter destitution. Her sad fato excites much pity, and efforts will be made to rescue her from the almshouse.
