REARING OF LITTLE PIGS.
We hear sometimes of little pigs beiim adopteda nd brought, up by bitches and other, animals, but these are, rarely found leady to hand, and the only practical method is a cow and a bottle. If we start on this we must sit up, or get up at night to feed them, for they want nourishment every few hours,. and in small quantity, and the temperature of the milk must be carefully regulated Long fasts and big feeds are not suited to the delicate stomach of a young animal, who in a state of nature pays a visit to the teat at short .intervals, and tney inevitably cause indigestion and scour, and scour causes check to growth and generally death.
