AN OAMARU WEDDING.

Dear Erie, —I thought I would send you an account of a wedding which took place in our quiet little town on the 31st of last month. .Mr Herbert Mowbray, district secretary for the A.M.P. Society, was the bridegroom and Amy Louise, youngest daughter of the late Mr John Simon, was the bride. The church (Sr. Luke’s) was very tastefully decorated with white Sowers. About half-past two in the afternoon the bride entered the church with Mr Roberts (an old friend), who gave her away. She was attended by her two sisters Gertrude and Hermione. The bride’s dress was of white silk lustre, prettily trimmed with satin embroidered tulle veil and spray of orange blossoms. She earned a lovely shower bouquet of white flowers and torus. The bridesmaids were attired in very stylishly made dresses. Miss G. Simon wearing blue lustre, and Miss H. Lemon coral pink nun’s veiling, both trimmed with white. They wore large wirite hats trimmed with white ostrich tips, chiffon and black velvet bows, they carried very pretty shower bouquets of white flowers. Mr Mowbray was attended by Mr Porteous from Greymouth. The bride’s mother wore a very stylish costume ' of grey faced with white silk, pink silk vest and pink and cream bonnet, Miss Lemon fawn coloured coat and skirt, pink vest, large picture hat; Mrs Baiubridge black costume with blue vest covered with lace, cream hat trimmed with cream ostrich tips and buttercup ribbon ; Mrs Sumpter stylish brown dress trimmed with silk, and pretty bonnet to match; Mrs Gould white pique costume with bonnet trimmed with green and pink; Mrs Roberts stylish grey costume, with bonnet to match. They all carried lovely bouauets. After the service* w.nch was full "choral, the wedding party drove out to Mrs Lemon’s residence at Newborough, and were entertained in the garden, where afternoon tea, wedding cake, and trifle, etc., were handed round. After the usual speeches were made the bride and bridegroom left by the express train for Dunedin, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s travelling costume was a tailor-made navy blue coat and skirt, white hat and "necklet of marabout feathers. The bridegroom’s gifts to the bridemaids were gold sleevelinks and studs, and amethyst bangle. The bride received many useful , and handsome presents, and the Oamaru Cricket Club presented Mr - Mowbray with a very handsome set of carvers.
