CABLE FLASHES.
The Czar has assigned 20,000 roubles for the support of the children injured, and those whose parents were killed, in the panic at tho recent peasants’ fete. Sir Hercules Robinson, Governor of Capo Colony and High Commissioner of British South Africa, has arrived in London. Among those killed at tho battle of Fcrkeli was the Dervish commander. The officials of the Khedive have arrested and maltreated two nowspaper editors who had written articles attacking the Young Turkish Party. Lord Cromer, British Ambassador, has protested against the illegal arrest, and also against the conduct of the officers. The Prince of 'Wales, opening the Trades Exhibition in East London, said, in responding to the cheers over his success in tho Derby, that ho was gratified to win tho raeo with a horse of his own breeding. The Duke of ocrmoneta, Foreign Minister in Italy, in referringtoMr Balfour's complaint as to the disclosures in the Green Book, said Great Britain had shown groat goodwill and unvarying sincerity in the discussion on the Abyssinian negotiations. African experts doclaro that it will cost T 1,000,009 to extirpate the rinderpest in the Rand.
