The 11 man with the iron jaw ” (Dick Robinson) and Jem Donovan mot at Dentico’s Gymnasium last week to try conclusions in an eight-round boxing contest. Donovan, who is considerably shorter than bis opponent, proved himself by far the better man, and got home so frequently on the “iron jaw” aforesaid and other pjrtions of Robinson’s body that at the end of tho fourth round the possessor of the “ jaw ” was only too glad to cry “ Hold, enough,” and Donovan was declared tho winner. Mr Johnson acted as referee. A boxing contest between William Campbell and Sam Hill, for tho middle-weight championship of New Zealand, is to tako place on Saturday, 20th inst.
