Dish prospects wero taken over a large area, and in each instance gave free payable gold, averaging from joz to lozto the ton, while the richness increases as the depth increases. A ton of the stone treated at Bulla yielded loz 10dwt gold. There are millions of tons of the stone. The Government Geologist has reported on the discovery of a golden mountain at .Marysville. The formation is sandstone, and there is no doubt the stone is of an auriferous character, but it will he necessary to thoroughly test it beforo working it on a large scale. Should the trials prove that the average hulk will yield even a few dwts per ton, there need lie no fear of ultimate success, as the available tonnage is enormous, and there are splendid facilities for economically working the ground. A cablegram has been received announcing tho completion of the sale of the Waihi Gladstone property in London. The Waihi Gladstone comprises the Gladstone, Salisbury and Joker claims contiguous to the WaihiSilverton and the Union-Waihi properties. The capital of the new Company is £IOO,OOO, with a working capital of .£25,000. The vendors receive <£25,000 in cash and paid-up shares. Tho balance of tho cash was paid into the Bank of New Zealand in London on Monday, and shares allotted. Auckland, Juno 5. Mr Moss Davis, in whoso hands the negotiations for the flotation of tho May Queen were placed, to-day advised the directors of the Company that lie had completed the sale of tho property to the Anglo-Continental Gold Syndicate, the terms imposed by Mr Gordon being as follows Capital, .£200,000 in .£1 shares, tho present shareholders receiving 82,000 fully paid-up shares ; the working capital. <£30,000, to ho provided by the purchasing company, to be paid as follows : (1) .£7500 cash down, balance as required (2) the titles to the property to he held by tho Bank of New Zealand, Auckland, until the wholo of the working capital is provided by the purchasing company, flic vendors’ shares to he pooled jini r ita with the English shares for nine months at a price of not less than 2 per cent, per share. This agreement has been signed by Mr Gordon. : The pooling as above mentioned is in no way I to interfere or hinder the local shareholders from dealing in their present shares on the Auckland market during the oecurroney of the pooling. A 10 tons crushing from tho Napier mine has yielded 50oz. bullion. A highly satisfactory repoi t on the Scaiulinuvian property has been cabled Home by Captain Argali. For the four weeks ending the 30th May the Waihi Goldmining Company treated 2700 tons ore for bullion valued at £OO3I. Despite the fact that the races took place to-day good business was transacted on tho Exchange, heavy sales being made at the noon meeting of the Brokers’ Association. Moanataira shares tinned a little, sales taking place up to 13s ltd. May Queens fell a little after yesterday’s rapid advance, hut large lines sold freely at 10s fid, while other transactions took plaeo at 11s 3d and 10s I'd, market closing with steady buyers at 10s fid. Cardigans were firm, with sales at Is lid, while Golden Points changed hands at 2s Bd. Allmrnias were in demand at 8s Gd with free sales up to 8s Dd. Buyers of Waiotahis again offered 35s without sales resulting. Crown shares were in demand at 4 Is, and Woodstoeks at 42s fid, while several transactions took place in Kapai-Vermonts at from 0s Id to 0s Gd. Try Flukes advanced in price, sales being made at 0s Gd, with no further sellers under Ills. Grace Darlings soldat 2s lid and 2s lOd, while largo parcels of Stanleys sold at Is Gd and Is Bd'. Waverley also firmed up to 2s Bd. Talismans sold up to 10s Gd, and Talisman Extended shares at 2s lOd. Four-in-Hand shares advanced to 2s fid. Hanraki South and Maorilands each advanced, owing to good news from London regarding the flotation. Many of the cheaper stocks also sold freely at better rates. 3 lie Kapai-Vermont Company has crushed 2SG tons ore for 241 oz gold. Clio reef is making stronger in tho upper level in the south face. With reference to the Hauraki South mine, a cablegram from London states that tho Company is already formed, and shares will issue in a few days.

Another cablegram from London states that the contract for the sale of the Maoriland property is already signed, and all details have been satisfactorily arranged. The Waitokauri Company for five weeks’ operations with a 10 stamper battery, from tho Golden Cross section only, treated 171tons ore for a yield of bullion valued at £O7B. Auckland, Juno 0.
