Aliss Millington, of Auckland, has written to the ladies’ committee of the Exhibition asking if it is proposed to give lectures in cookery, as was done at Dunedin, and suggesting that she should be appointed to u. ana go the department. The committee has decided to ask tho Gas Company if it will help in establishing classes and lessons in conjunction with Miss Alillington, and also to ask Mr Turnbull, electrician, if he would arrange for experiments in cookery by electricity. In reply to a circular from the Wellington Women’s Social and Political League, the Canterbury Women’s Institute has passed a resolution that, as a non-party organisation, it could not see its way to cooperate in the presentation of the congratulatory address to the Premier.
