President Kruger wishes to eommnte the sentences upon the leaders of the Reform Party, and instead impose a heavy fine. The Transvaal Executive, however, fears that this would be regarded as proceeding from merely mercenary motives, and prefers that the five ytars’ sentences should stand. Capetown, Juno 7.
