THE CRETAN MASSACRES.
London, Juno 5. A force of 10,000 Turkish soldiers is occupying Crete, and a state of siege ha 3 been proclaimed. The Powers have warned the Porto that the massacre of the inhabitants will not bo permitted to continue. Constantinople, June 4. In the towns in Crete, business is completely paralysed, and the country districts are being pillaged by bands of marauders. Tho insurgents killed 75 soldiers who wore making an attempt to recover a quantity of ammunition at Vamas. Athens, Juno 5. Tho Greek National Committee is assisting tho Cretans. Athens, Juno G. Turkish authority in Western Crete is limited to tho Canoa Forts and Suda Bay.
The wholo of the districts are in the hands of the insurgents. Eighteen thousand Turkish troops have arrived at the island. Many Christian villages have been pillaged.
