LATE COMMERCIAL.
Freeman R. Jackson and Co.'s Wanganui stock report (telegraphed on the 29fch to the Mail) is as follows : —The sales during the past fortnight have been small. We sold fairly well out both at Waverley and Wanganui. Prices are without quotable change. Cattle —At Waverley: Weaners, 10s. At Wanganui: Forward bullocks, £4s 3s ; milch cows, <£3 to £Q ss; old cows, 33s to 53s ; yearlings, 28s. Sheep —At Waverley ; Wethers, 5s 10s to 7s 4d; fat, 8s 3d; breeding ewes, 4s 6d to 6s lOd ; old ewes, Is 5d to 2s ;■ fat ewes, 5s lid ; lambs, 3s 9d to 5s 3d ; culls, 2s 9d. At Wanganui.- Fat wethers, 9s 7d to 10s ; ewes, 6s to 6s 8d; breedirg ewes, 5s to 7s ; old ewes, 3s to 3s 6d; lambs, 3s. Pigs—Small porkers, 12s 3d ; suckers, 2s to 3s 6d. The following is the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's report of the Addington market (telegraphed oh the 29th to the Mail) :—Fat cattle —Average entry, quality for the most part being only medium. Tho demand for good beef showed a slight improvement, best steers making up to .£8 15s ;. medium, .£5 12s 6d to <£7 5s ; cows and heifers, -84 10s to £7 15s, being at the rate of 19s to 21s for steer beef and 14s 6d to 17s 6d for cow and heifer. Store cattle —A very poor entry, both as regards numbers and sorts; very little, if any, business done. Dairy cows —• A fair entry, competition for any good sorts being a shade better; prices ranging from «£2 10s to «£4 for inferior, and from £6 to <£9 5s for best sorts. Pigs-—A full yard of all classes; competition very weak, best baconers making only 35s ; light .weights, 24s to 27sj porkers, 12s to 203, Vor about 2|d per lb. Fat sheep—Awerage entry, competition irregular; prices about the same ,as last week; aged ewes selling at from 6s 6d to lis : maiden ewes, 8s to llsGd ; wethers, 8s 6dto 12s 4d. Store sheep—A good average entry. Though bidding was slow prices show improvement, especially for good forward turnip sheep and good condition lambs. 1 The following London market cablegram was received on May 29 by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company : —Frozen meats —Canterbury mutton, 3d per lb •: Wellington mutton, 2£d per lb ;. lamb, prime New Zealand (per carcase), 4 5-8 d per lb. Tallow—Fine mutton, 24s 6d per cwt ; good beef, 21s 6d per cwt. Hemp—Medium, .4313 per ton. Wheat —There is an improved feeling.
