London, May 27. Mr Freyberg, the New Zealand timber expert, reports that the inequality in the sizes of colonial timber blocks is due to loose methods in sawing. He points out that this defect is damaging the prospects of the trade heie. '" Sydney, May 28. Orders have been received by cable to load three ships with 600,000 ft of hardwood timber each, and despatch the vessels to London at intervals of a month. Unfortunately the coastal mills are unable to cope with such a large order, but the first vessel will be loaded and despatched shortly, and an effort will bo made to complete.the order later on. .
