ALLEGED SHEEP STEALING.
Wanganui, May 17. At about noon to-day two men named F. Fohrmann and Rudolph Lukshculsku were .arrested at Hawera on a charge of stealing between 300 and 4.-00 sheep from Mr J. G. Wilson’s run, Mount iStewart, near Sandon. The matter was reported to Sergeant Cullen after 5 o’clock on Wednesday evening, and the men were in custody and the sheep recovered in considerably less than 48 hours. The accused, who have admitted stealing Mr Wilson’s sheep, are to be brought up at Hawera to-morrow, and remanded to Wanganui. Hawera, May 20. Frank Lupschiilski, whose brother and Fohrmann are already under arrest for alleged slieep-stealing, was arrested yesterday on a similar charge. The police found a large number of sheep on his place bearing earmarks of farmers in this district and Rangitikei. Accused was brought before the Court to - day and remanded, and admitted to bail.
He states that he gave his brother and Fohrmann money to buy sheep for him, and did not know the sheep were stolen.
