NEW ZEALAND COMPANIES IN LONDON. London, May 11. The Waitekauri Cold Mining Company of New Zealand, with a capital of £150,000, has been registered. The Tokatea Gold Mining Company, of Hauraki, with a capital of £150,000, is issuing £62,000 on the London market. London, May 10. Blagrove’s Freehold Gold Mining Company, Coromandel, is announced, with a capital of £62,000.

Perth, May 12. The first big crushing of stone from the Great Boulder Mine has taken place, 128 tons yielding 12980 z of gold. Pekth, May 14. Splendid battery stone has been struck in the Londonderry mine at the 100 ft level. It is rumoured that the famous shoot of gold first struck has been picked up. Shares have risen, and large sales have taken place. The stone, though good, is nqt 9a a sensational value.

G-reymouth, May 11. The following are the Beefton gold returns for the week: Progress, 138 oz amalgam from 110 tons; Hercules, ISIoz amalgam from 105 tons. Stafford, May 11. At a.n enthusiastic public meeting it was stated that recent prospecting has proved the existence of a payable goldfield over a large area of country, until now untried, which cannot be worked until a drain tunnel is constructed. The meeting urged the Go\ernment to construct a tunnel, as the opening of the field will solve the unemployed difficulty in Westland. Beefton, May 11. The return of the Buller dredge is 450 z 7dwt gold for 112 hours’ work, which is better than was anticipated.
