CRICKET.

London, May 9. In the course of an interview, Richardson, the Surrey bowler, declared George Giffen to be one of the greatest of batsmen, and said that among the most promising of Australian cricketers are Iredale, Darling,. A. E. Trott and Clem Hill. Both Stoddart and Brown concur in this opinion. Stoddart, speaking at the reception of the English cricketers on their return from Australia, stated that during the early part of the tour Richardson’s customary style of bowling was useless. He gave away 400 runs for nine wickets, and was not effective until he began fetching balls two yards shorter than usual.
