BRITISH IMPORTS.
The J! [ark Lane Express has just published a lengthy return showing the quantities of certain kinds of agricultural produce imported into the United Kingdom in the week ended December 29, 1894. Here are some of the figures : —Oxen, bulls, cows, and calves, 6984; sheep and lambs, 12,059. Fresh meat, beef, 41,988 cwt; mutton, 22,654ewt; pork, 40S2cwt. Baited and preserved meats in cwts, bacon, 42,614; beef, 4920; hams, 15,625; pork, 4307 ; meat preserved otherwise than by salting, 10,752 Dairy produce, in cwts, butter, 44,507; margarine, 19,075 ; cheese, 22,899 ; milk, 1350 gallons ; condensed milk, Bl2cwt; eggs, 135,50 c. great hundreds ; poultry and game, valued at L 18.687 ; rabbits (dead, not tinned), 2572cvvt, ; lard, 29603 cwt. Corn, etc., in cwts, wheat, 1,152,634 ; wheat meal and flour, 493,206; barley, 508,129 ; oats, 261,120; peas, 44,830 ; beans, 151,930; maize or Indian corn, 609,022. Fruit, in bushels, -apples, 35,247; oranges, 405,291 ; lemons, 21,289; pears, 503 ; grapes, 499 ; unenumerated, 7030. Hay, 1573 tons ; hops, 6884 cw t; onions, 64,348 bushels ; potatoes, 17,703 cwt; unenumerated in the vegetable line valued at L 10,517.
