OBITUARY.

JOHN LOGAN. We regret to announce that Mr John Logan, father-in-law of Sir R. Stout, died on March 7, at Dunedin. Dunedin, March 10. The funeral of the late Mr John Logan was largely attended by leading representative citizens. Sir R. Stout was unable to attend, owing to Lady Stout’s sudden illness. HARRY FRIEDLANDER Mr Harry Friedlander, an old and muchrespected Ashburton resident, died in Christchurch on Saturday, aged 50 years. He never quite recovered from injuries received eight years ago, when he was called upon to assist in arresting a disorderly man who was proving too strong for the constable on duty. MRS KENRICK. Mrs Kyflin Kenrick, wife of Mr R. Kyffin Kenrick, one of the oldest residents at East Oxford, is dead. The deceased lady was well known for her charitable acts. She was interred on Sunday afternoon. MRS BARRY. • Mrs Parry, aged about 78 years, died suddenly at her residence, Maori Kaik, Otago, on Sunday. She came to the Colony with her husband, and settled at the Heads many years ago. Mrs Perry claimed to be distantly related to the late Lord Palmerston. MISS MEYER. Miss Annie M. Meyer, fourth daughter of the late Mr A. W. Meyer, of Southbr'ook, Canterbury, died' at Mayfield Nursery Home, Palmerston North, on March 6, at the early age of .24 years. General sympathy will be felt for Mrs Meyer and family* who have experienced the grief of losing three members of the family within two months. MRS KING. Hokitika, March 11. Mrs G. King, one of the oldest residents of this and the Okarito goldfields, died today after a lingering illness. She was widely known and much respected. DR TUKE. London, March 6. The death is announced of Dr Tuke, editor of the Journal of Mental Science, aged 68. GENERAL LAYE. London. March '7. The death is announced of General Laye, who formerly served in New Zealand. < HYDE CLARKE. Mr Hyde Clarke, the well-known philologist, linguist and engineer, died in London. M. WORTH. / Paris, March 11. The death is announced of Worth, the well-known costumier.
