THE MANAWATU RAILWAY.
The working agreement between the Government and the Manawatu Railway Company expired on Friday last, and negotiations are now proceeding for its renewal, the Company being desirous of obtaining some minor alterations, the chief of which is the concession of being allowed to start their morning train from Wellington at 7 instead of half-past 6 o’clock. As the half-hour thus lost would have to be made up on the Government section, it is rather unlikely that this concession will be vielded. The matter, however-, will be decided in Cabinet.
