Two miles. NOMINATIONS, HANDICAPS, &c. Nominations must be made in writing, and close with the Secretary at the Railway Hotel, Johnsonville, on THURSDAY, Ist of November, at 9 p.m. Handicaps appear on TUESDAY, November 6th. Acceptances close with the Secretary at the Railway Hotel, Johnsonville, on WEDNESDAY, November 14th. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. All ponies (except those holding certificates) to be measured before starting. 2. Previous performances of horses to be given at time of nomination, also colours of the riders. 3. All races to be run under the rules of the Wellington Trotting Association. 4. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. 5. All horses that have never started will be handicapped on the same mark. 6. All horses must be ridden and driven out. If distanced by first horse, second and third money will be paid to the winner. 7. All protests to be accompanied by a fee of 2 sovs, to be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. 8. All disputes and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, whose decision shall be final, and shall not be questioned in any Court of law. Entries only received on this condition. 9. Nominations must state the bona fide owners of horses. 10. No jockey will be permitted to ride or drive unless in full jockey’s colours and breeches. This rule will bo strictly enforced. 11. Any jockey not weighing out within ten minutes after ringing of bell, or not returning saddle cloths immediately at the conclusion of any event, will be fined <£l Is, which will be strictly enforced.
