ATHLETICS.

The Athletic Football Club's animal half-mile race was run on the Basin Reserve last evening week. Twenty-five started, and a good race resulted as follows:—J. Swindley, 1; J. S. Tripe, 2; R. Heise, 3. Swindley won by throe yards, soven yards between second and third. Time, 2min 1G l-ssce. Mr G. F. C. Campboll acted as judge, Mr E. Davy as starter, and Messrs F. M. Lcckie and J. Rothenberg as timekeepers.
