NOMINATIONS, WEIGHTS, ACCEPTANCES, ETC.

WELLINGTON PACING CLUB'S COMBINED MEETING. The following acceptances were received last night for the Wellington Racing Club's combined meeting on May 2nd and 3rd : Railway Handicap, three-quarters of a

Tho acceptances arc excellent, 113 pay-, ing up as against 81 last year. A comparative statement shows 13 for tho Railway Handicap, as against 9 last year; 9 for the Hurdle Race, as against 7 ; 8 for the Hack Hurdle Raee, as against?; 21 for the Thompson Handicap, as against 8; 8 for the Hunters' Steeplechase, as against 4 for the Ladies' Braeelet last year (both are gentlemen riders' races) ; 13 for tho Hack Handicap, as against 15; 18 for the Stewards' Handicap, as against 6. The Wellington Steeplechase shows a falling off of two, the numbers being 13, as against 15; while 10 for the Trial Steeplechase is the same as last year. Surprise is expressed at Whalebone and Booties dropping out of the Steeplechase, both of them being thought to have a good show. The club will lose nothing over the Thompson Handicap, as 48 nominated and 21 have accepted. This, with tho totalisator money, will make up considerably more than the .£225 given in stakes. The horses engaged at the meeting are now commencing to arrive, and there is every prospect of a most successful reunion. The events in nearly every instance are somewhat hard to pick, and there will be considerable speculation as to the probable results.
