With a view to farther increasing the utility of the New Zealand Mail, the Editor has deeided to introduce a now feature in the shape of a Missing Friends’ oolumD, in whioh will be published the names of persons for whom their friends are enquiring in the Home weeklies. Enquiries from persons in New Zealand and in the Australian Colonies for information missing friends, will be inserted in this oolumn at the rate of Is for eaoh insertion. Replies will b 9 forwarded to the Editors of Lloyd’s and other papers if desired. All correspondence for this column should be addressed New Zealand Mail, Wellington, with the words 1 Missing Friends ’ in the left hand top corner. From Lloyd’s Weekly Newspafer, De cember 23. BOODLE or BRANOHETT (GEORGE) left England about 14 years ago for New Zealand, and was last beard of in Jan,, 1883, from Weston, Omuri, Otago. His mother longs to hear. CARRE FT (GKORGE HENRY) of Brixton sailed for Auckland, Now Zealand, in 1864, and was last heard of about five years since in Dubbo, N.S.W. Sisters Annie and Susan. (HERBERT) has not written home since Ootobar 16, 1889. He was then a sailor on board the s.s. Defianoe, on a voyage from Melbourne to Auckland, New Zealand, waiting in Bass Strait. Afterwards supposed to be sailing in the Southern Ocean, Brothers Fredeiiok, James and George. QTJARTHY (TANK) last wrote from Christchuroh, Canterbury, New Zealand, 10 years ago. She was then a widow. Her nephew, John Lewis, seeks her. Letters have been returned ‘ unclaimed,’. ROFE (WILLIAM) of Great Yarmouth, wentfo New Zealand some 14 years ago ; last letter reoeived nine years since, when he gave his addressP.O., Christohurob, Canterbury, N.Z. SAUNDERS (MARY ANN) emigrated from Plymouth to Canterbury, New Zealand, in August, 1884. and last wrote home in October, when living as domestic servant in a doctor's family. Brother Charles. JONES (JAMES), painter, was laat heard of 35 years ago when with Mr Tuhoya, Auckland, New Zealand. Brother Edward seeks him. LANE (ANN) inquires for her brother Samuel Jones and sister Martha Simpson. Samuel left England 44 years ago, and was last known to be living in William street, Melbourne, Australia. Martha went to New Zealand about 35 years since, and last wrote home from Cox street, Auckland. LEONARD (PATRICK), flax-spinner, native of Tyrone, le’t Ireland about 29 years since. His eldest son John wishes totraoe hi* sister Raohael, who went to Australia about 29 years ago.
