THE PAHIATUA POISONING CASE.
(press ASSOCIATION.> Pahiatua, January 8. The inquest on the poisoning oases was resumed last night at 7 o’clock. Inspector Thomson Btated that owing to the intervention of the holidays the Government Analyst did not receive the stomach and intestines of one of the victims and 24 samples of food until Tuesday last. An exhaustive analysis was necessary, and would take time. The attendance of several witnesses, still in the hands of the doctors, would have to bo secured, and they eould not attend at present. He therefore applied for on adjournment. The Coroner thought that under the circumstances it would be contrary to the interests of justice to take any further evidence at present, so the inquest was further adjourned until Thursday, 21st iust., at 10 a.m. The Wairarapa Star, of Thursday, says : —Latest reports from Pahiatua continue to be assuring concerning the sufferers. Mr J. L. Murray received a letter from Mrs Dickson on Wednesday afternoon, written by herself—fact that show* she Jo making good progressing he has siace received the
following telegram : “ Mrs Diokson improving fast. Will not be required at the inquest.”
