The two following heats have been got off by the Wellington Rowing Club’s novice sculls : (1) H.J. Thomson beat J. Thomson ; W . Lester beat W. Waters; Hausmann beat Beere. (2) Young beat W. Waters; H. Dix defeated Thompson ; Hausmann beat Rabe. The first heats of the 'VVellington Rowing Club's Junior Fours will be'rowed on the 18th instant, commencing at 6 p/m. The principal trophies to be competed for at the regatta on the 22nd are on view in Messrs Hoffmann & Son’s music warehouse. . For the second-class championship, to be. sailed at the said regatta, there are nine entries, the latest addition being the yacht Thetis. What is expected to be a very fast racing fn ar has been built for the Star Boating Club by Mr Geo. Norton, Waterloo quay. The yachts Mascotte, 14 tons. Captain Sinclair, an I Onawe, 7 tons, Captain Wyman, which left Lyttelton on Sunday last, arrived off the Heads on Tuesday evening, and were towed in by the Mana about 6.30 p.m. The two yacht will compete at the regatta on the 22nd. The distance for the championship yacht races is 2Si miles —nine or ten miles longer than the course for the second-class yacht races last year.

(PP.KSS ASSOCIATION.) Ciiristohdrch, January 12. --The Kaiapoi regatta was held to-day. In the Senior Fours the Canterbury Club crew, consisting of Lawrie, Daly, Speight and Mcßeath, were first ; Lyttelton second, and ICaiapoi third.
