(press association). Invercargill. January 11. At the first of the season’s wool sales today, about 5000 bales were offered to a good attendance, buyers of Home manufacturers being represented ot - strongly as at last year’s sales. Tho sale on toe whole was satisfactory from a grower’s point of viaw. There has been considerable decline in values in London. Fine lialfbreds brought as high prices as last year, some brands even more. This is due in some measure to their being lighter in grease. The top price for fine hall bred was lid, and the average from lOjjd to 9d. Fine crossbreds fetched 9d to lOd ; those of rongh description and sappy brought to 9d. Vlerinos were in poor demand, and sooßfc of the lota passed were of this description. Light in grease aud good staple brought 8d ; other sorts, 6d to 7Jd.
