Detachments under Lieutenants Grant and Presgrave have joined Leslie’s column at Patch, 20 miles beyond Tamu. Intelligence has been received of General Graham’s safe arrival at Tamu. Severe fighting has taken place between the British troops and the rebel Mironzai for the possession of Samana ridge. Mollahs are preaching a Jehad (Holy War) against British authority, but the Affrides tribe are still hesitating to join the rebels. ' Rewards have been offered for the capture of the Regent. Officers of the British detachment who were captured by the Manipuris were speared and dismembered in the presence of the whole force.
