THE NATIVE LAND LAWS COMMISSION.

(PEK PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, April 15. The Native Land Laws Commissioners, Messrs Rees, Carroll, and Maokay, had a meeting with the chiefs of the Ngatimaniapoto tribe at Otorohanga, when Mr Rees addressed them, explaining the purpose for which the Commissioners were appointed. Taonui, a leading chief, replied stating that the Ngatimaniapoto desired the restrictions removed from their land. Should that be done he would be in favour of leasing, but not selling the land. The time for paying for the surveys should be extended beyond the two yearß laid down by the late Government. All individual dealings should cease, and tribal or hapu dealings be substituted,
