Bowling.
There was only a moderate attendance at the Wellington Bowling Club’s ground on Saturday last. The weather was simply perfect, and the green is in excellent trim, several capital heads being compiled. The scores of the various games are as under : Rink No. 1. McDougall Lawson Myers Jones Kirkbride Mouatt Barraud (skip) 17 Strang (skip) 16 Rink No. 3. Reid Cooper Grady Miller Eliott Lindsay Sample (skip) 21 Dransfield (skip) 17 Rink No. 4. Mitchell Matheson Hart Hutchen Riley Willeston Edwin (skip) 21 Riley, W. J- (skip) 16 A second game resulted : Edwin 11 Riley 6 Rink No. 5. Letham Young K. Wilson Harris^ Ewart Crombie Lambert (skip) 21 McGlashan (skip) 13 A second game with a change of skips resulted Crombie 21 Ewart 13 NELSON v. WELLINGTON. The match with the Nelson Club will be played next Saturday, and it has been arranged to give the visitors two games, commencing at 10.30 a.m., and the other at 2.30 p.m., 21 heads up. The following members of the Wellington Club have been selected by the Match Committee, to do battle for their side. 10.30 a.m. Game. No. 1 Rink—Gray, Tußtin, Scoullar, Ballinger (skip). No. 2 Rink—Young, Harris, Didsbury, McGlashan (skip. No. 3 Rink—Ewart, K. Wilson, Whitehouse, Lambert (skip ) 2.30 p.m. Game. No. 1 Rink— McKerrow, Elliott, Lindsay, Letham (skip.) No. 2 Rink—Crombie, Flanagan, G. P. Wilson, McGregor (skip.) No. 3 Rink—Gale, Barraud, Martin, A. Campbell (skip.) The above-named skips are requested to get their teams together for practice as often as possible during the week ; also to have their men on hand sharp to time on Saturday. (per press association.) New Plymguth, April 15. The bowling match, Nelson v. New Plymouth, two rinks, commenced at 2 o’clock, 25 heads up. The players are : No. 1 rink—New Plymouth—Davis, Sanderson, Veale, Morey (skip); Nelson—Hankinson. Buttle. Kemptfaorne, Lyell (skip). No. 2 rink—New Plymourh—Jury, Goldwater, Jones, Paul (skip) ; Nelson Edwards, Ledger, Trask, Winton (skip). Later. The bowling match, Nelson v. New Plymouth, resulted in a win for the local team by 34 points. Soores : New Plymouth—No. 1 rink, 48; No. 2 rink, 21; total, 69. Nelson—No. 1 rink (Lyell skip), 16 j No. 2 rink (Winton skip), 19 ; total, 35. The visitors were entertained to-night by Mr Samuel, President of the local Bowling Club.
