In connection with the reciprocity negotiations, it is reported that the President was incensed at Sir J. Macdonald’s election attacks on the United States. New York, April 8. The New York Herald states that it is not likely that reciprocity with Canada will take place under President Harrison’s Government, and that further parleying is neither expected nor desired. J Washington, April 12. It has been agreed to renew negotiations for reciprocal arrangements between Canada and the States on 25th October. Washington, April 13. The President and Secretary Blaine have disagreed over the question of Canadian reciprocity, and it is expected that Mr Blaine will contest the next Presidential election.
