THE ARGENTINE CRISIS.
PAYMENT STOPPED BY THE NATIONAL BANK. COLLAPSE OP SECURITIES. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Buenos Ayres, April 8. The Government of the Argentine Republic has suspended payment of deposits in the National Provincial Banks until June next. The depositors have been offered bonds for due payment of their deposits, and it is proposed to form both the banks into a State bank. London, April 8. The Institute of Bankers has been discussing tho action of the Argentine Government with reference to the National Provincial Banks. London, April 9. The Standard declares the Argentine Government is bankrupt. Stocks are still falling in London. (SPECIAL TO PRESS ASSOCIATION.) London, April 9. There has been a heavy collapse in Argentine securities, the average fall being L 5.
