THE VOLUNTEERS.

The City Rifles competed for the handsome silver challenge cup (won by the City Rifle team in the Association teams matches), and also for company prizes, at the PolhiU Gullv range on Saturday, the attendance being very good. Conditions—2oo, 300, and 500yds, seven shots at each distance ; any position. Volunteer A. C. Atkinson is the first winner of the trophy, which he has to win three times before it becomes his absolute property.
