It is very satisfactory to find that at last the long-talked-of and muchneeded “ Queen’s Drive ” has a fair prospect of becoming an accomplished fact. The Mayor and Borough Council of Melrose have acted with great spirit and liberality, and we trust that all remaining difficulties will be speedily surmounted. A. few pleasant drives are among the most prominent wants of this city, and the natural situation and surroundings of Wellington are exceptionally fa vourable to the construction of drives abounding in beautiful and romantic views, in which every lover of the picturesque must revel. We hope that Wellington may ere long be as well off in respect of agreeable drives as it has hitherto been the reverse.
