Christchurch, August 22. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report (per Mr E. G. Staveley) as follows : —At Addington yards to-day there were full entries. There were about 5000 sheep. Fat sheep were slightly easier ; prime crossbred wethers, los to 17s 6d ; exceptionally heavy, 20s ; mixed sexes, 13b 6d to los; light weights, l^ 3 13s; prime merino wethers, 11s Gd to 14s 3d ; medium, Sa 9d ; prime mutton, 3d per lb. There was a brisk inquiry for store sheep; Cattle market.—Fat cattle maintained good value ; bullocks, L 6 to L 7 ; cows and heifers, L 5 to L 6 10s ; exceptional weights, LS ; beef, 16s to 20s per 1001 b. Store cattle unchanged. There was a fair demand for dairy stock. Pigs.—There was a moderate entry, and a good demand at late rates. Dunedin, August 22. Sheep—2s6S were yarded ;. best crossbred wethers, 14s to 17s 9d; ordinary, jo s 6d to 13s 6d; best crossbred ewes, 13s 6d to 15s 6d ; others, 10s 7d to 12s 7d ; merino wethers, 7s to 11s 6d ; muttoD, lgd to 2£d per lb. Pigs—l 24 were penned ; suckers, 6s to 13s 6d ; stores, 15s to 24s ; porkers, 283 to 32s ; baconers, 45s to 655.
