Melbourne, November 3
The Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand reports as follows of the local market :—Wheat is difficult of sale, even at a slight reduction, 5s to 5s Id; barley shows no improvement,
3s 9d to 4s 3d. Oats, feed sorts, for which there is a moderate inquiry, are selling at from 3s to 3s 3d. The demand for oats, milling sorts, is irregular, 3s 3d to 3s 4s. New Zealand oats, under bond, 2s 4d to 2s 6d. Sfcoddart Campbell, the defaulting teller of the Bank of Australasia, was arrested at 1. o’clock p.m. yesterday. He has since been liberated on bail.
