LARGE IRRIGATION SCHEME.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Ashburton, June 23. The Irrigation Committee of the County Council submitted a report yesterday. The report proposes the irrigation of 396,000 acres, at a cost of £41,227, or an average cost of 2s Id an acre. The Council adopted the report, and a vote of the ratepayers will be taken to determine whether a loan shall be raised for the purposes of the scheme.
