RIVAL LICENSING COMMITTEES.

(united pbess association.) Dunedin, July 7. The latest phase of the Licensing Committee difficulty at Linden is as follows Yesterday the Committee of five, appointed by the Governor, met and granted a renewal, previously adjourned by them. To-day the Committee of three, elected by the ratepayers, met, and two of them (the third declining to act, though present) granted a new .license refused a month ago by the rival body, the Chairman issuing the licenses. The grantee, it is understood, will proceed to exercise h'.s rights (if any) under his grant, and probably, if he does so, the law will be set in motion against him, and thereby the whole question will be settled.
