No reply has yet been received from Arabi Pasha, the • Egyptian Minister of War, to the' “communication of Sir Beauchamp Seymour, and notwithstanding 'the threats of the Admiral commanding 1 the allied fleet before this city, the work of fortifying the harbor and the commanding positions proceeds without intermission. Affairs are now in a most critical state, aud it, is expected that the. bombardment of the pity will shortly take place.]

INDIAN TROOP 3 READY FOR EMBARKATION..

Active military preparations are now being made by the Indian Government for despatching a contingent force to Egypt in case of necessity. 6000 troops have 1 received orders to hold themselves in' readiness to embark.- Further preparations are also being made for transport and victualling services. . ]
