THE HUON BELLE.
(united press association.) Lyttelton, July 7. 1 There appears to be little chance of the Huon Belle, which went ashore on Tuesday, inside the Waimakariri Bar at Kaiapoi, being got off. To-day she was fast settling, and had three or four feet of water in the hold. Insurances as far as ascertained are—£2oo in New Zealand Office on vessel, and £6O (?) on carge in South British. another schooner ashore. (united press association.) Auckland, July 7. The captain of the steamer Oreti, which arrived to-day, reports the schooner Saucy Kate ashore in Hick’s Bay, uninjured, but she lias lost her sails an* will have to be launched through the sand.
SHIPPING CASUALTY AT HOKITIKA.

The steamer Waipara got ashore on the North Spit, when entering the river after tendering the steamqr Hero. In trying to get the steamer. off yesterday the hawser slipped and broke Captain Bignell’s leg in two places. He was immediately taken' to the hospital. Charles Johnston, one of the seamen on board, had his hand severely injured, and Sutherland, the mate, also received slight injuries. The steamer is not in a bad position, and-it is expected that she will be got off in a couple of days. ' <
